Which are the better buys or sound better - Roland VGA Series or Line 6 give me your opinions. Feel free to add another manufacturer if you think they're better still...

I've used Line 6 amps in the past and found them to be very good, it also depends on which line6 amp you buy as well, the cheapest is The Spider and is really geared towards young metalheads, the middle priced amp is the Flextone and is a fine all round amp, the top of the line is the Vetta, which has all the bells and whistles, including various stompbox sims and dual amping. The Line 6 website has soundbytes and video demo's of their amps: line6.com/products/amplifiers/

LINE 6 ARE REALLY GOOD.THE EFFECTS ARE PRETTY GOOD TO BUT I FIND A BIG PRICE JUMP FROM THE FLEXTONES TO THE VETTA AND THE CONTROL BOARDS ARE SOLD SEPARATE AND RANGE FROM £80 BASIC TO £300 .GOOD BUILD QUALITY THOUGH.

Hi MickyB,
Just a polite request, on the internet in chat forums, it's considered bad manners to use ALL CAPITAL LETTERS when you're contributing. To the reader it seems as if you're shouting at us, and it's the shouting that gets noticed not the message you're trying to tell us. We would like to hear your message so if you can turn CAPS LOCK off everyone would be very pleased.
If you're having problems with reading the characters on your screen (a very common problem, me too) then usually you'll find at the top of the screen a menu item View. Clicking on this will give you the option to enlarge the font that the screen content is displayed in.
Please don't be put off by my e-mail I'm only trying to help your contributions be more effective and read by more rather than ignored by many.
Best regards, JohnG.

Hi MickyB, If you're having problems with reading the characters on your screen (a very common problem, me too) Best regards, JohnG. Also - if you have a scroll mouse and using IE6 or above - hold down a Ctrl key and using the scroll - you can zoom in/out depending which way you scroll it. & Well said John - very helpful advice. regards Warren ;D

Hi I have owned 2 line 6 amps and had probs with them I use a Marshall AVT100x lovely sound but I feel Its is underpowered there is no way that this is 100w . My advice is go and test the amps at your local store and don't be afraid to turn them up to full volume (please warn people first) this will tell you if the sound breaks up or distorts badly someone told me the Laney amps are really good and also reasonable .But there are loads out there Its just a matter of what suits your needs.
Good Luck Mark

Hi Mark, I use a Roland VG-88 live just now, but I also own a Vox Valvetronix 100w combo which I feel is better than most if not all of all the modelling combos I've owned. Jack.
