Hi There, Could any bass player tell me if they have made the switch from Fretted Bass to Fretless, and how hard was the transition..........Pete.

Hi Pete I tried to years ago and found that there is no room for error (unlike fretted bass's). . A fretless bass always sounds "nicer" if played well. You need to position your fingers on the dot (not behind the fret as with fretted bass's) or try marking the fretboard with liquid paper till you get used to it. There are some fretless bass's with the fret positions etched on the fretboard that make playing a lot easier.
