Hey How You all are!
I am and have been hooked on midi music for over 12 years. I have been playing guitar for 47 years (no I'm not as old as Kieth Richards) I have played in more bands than Clapton but I wanted something different so I got into midi now I perform one piece or two piece with a friend and even have jam sessions where I play at parties clubs or animal houses. I got a good line of equipment and computer software. My synths that I use Roland GR-1 guitar synth, Alesis QS-6 keyboard, Yamaha MU-15 module, Yamaha sound card in my laptop, Charvel TX Custom guitar ( with Fender pickups) Ibanez 1530 (with Seymour Duncan pickups) Dixon 12 string acoustic 1975 model, amps- Fender Princeton, Jay Truser,Samick, mixer-Fostex VM88, effects Digitech RP-7 Boss Compressor, Behringer V-amp2, drums Yamaha DD-55, speakers (self designed) loaded with JBL's and passive 3way crossover. Software I use from PG Music Power Tracks Pro and Band In A Box, Cakewalk Music Creator. Lately I have downloaded several midi's just to see how to compare with my own, there are some very good midi players out there. Sometimes I edit the downloaded file to my personal taste and for background rhythm tracks so I can use them at performances. Most of the time I'll take a midi file and create loops for the background then paste them together to create a song that I want then add the other rhythm and fills in. My styles of music go from Bluegrass, Country, Blues, Classic Rock, my favorite and what we call around here since back about 1970 is Appalachian Rock (you take traditional insturments like a banjo, fiddle, dobro, etc, add in piano electic bass and guitar and drums and rock it. Its called today modern country on the radio but it was invented here on the Country Music Highway U.S. 23 that's whre most of todays Nashville players come from anyway.
