Hi There,
Been playing guitar for 40years, but in the last twelve months I've been having ago at Keyboards. Where i find MIDI Files useful in sorting out those lovely (sus chords) so effectively used by keyboard/piano players. I would love some software which actually shows the NOTES/or CHORD names as they pass the the PIANO ROLL , while the midi song is playing. This makes the the process of chord/note identification easer.
PS. New to using Sonar/Cakewalk, can this do it?

i use midinotate musician.it isn,t free ,but it will display the midi file as a complete music sheet.you can opt to show it as a fakesheet, using lead and chords.then choose easy notes to the display the notes with the keyboard letters inside them.when you are satisfied with it,print it out and you have a complete music score. steve

Thanks for your suggestion to use (Midinotate Musician) will look at this as an possible answer. I do have (G6 software) which can print out MIDi FIles for each instrument, and can be presented as traditional notation or guitar tab. Although it tends to give you weird chords for keyboard parts, but it's great for BASS parts.Whats great about the piano roll facility, if it could show you what's happening for the track your learning, when it's happening.
