Question:Not sure whether I got this file off midimart...can't check off the title...but, when I load it into my Roland JW 50 it takes nothing off. The 16 channel mixer on the screen shows no music allocated to any channel. The load time should take about three minutes and this one does it in 10 seconds, obviously receiving no info. Other files have been fine. This one also plays great through the computer. Any ideas? Answer:I had a little trouble understanding your terminology but I'm sure I have found the problem. Each channel were set to receive info from port 2. They need to be set for port 1. That is fixed. Having the ability to use multiple ports is a wonderful thing. There are 8 ports available. If you have multiple sound modules you can set them to accept info from another port and thus take your 16 channel MIDI limitations up to 128 channels! This is especially useful to those who sequence full orchestrations. Real audio examples of someone who does just that can be heard at www.bway2.comHowever, if you have a device that is set to port 1 it will not hear anything that is being sent to any other port. That is why your Roland JW50 did not recieve any info from the file. Cat >^..^<

Cat, Thanks once again for your time. Not really up with technology, but did at least understand your technical data. File works perfectly. I might just test your ability to retreave a song from a medley of Billy Fury hits (England charts only from the sixties.) Thanks once again from the Canary Isles, Rossi.

That will be no problem, providing I have a way of recognizing the song within the medley. I'll need the file, the name of the tune in the Medley, ( It might help me to know what all of the tune's names are) And, I might need an MP3 of the tune. If you don't have one I may be able to come up with it myself. Removing a tune from a medley is not a difficult task for me. So, any time you want to send it to me I'll be ready. -smile- Cat >^..^<
