I,m suffering from a flu at the moment so could,nt play last nights gig. . There i was snuggled in front of the tv with a constant supply of hot lemon drinks given to me by my darling wife. The eurovision song contest had started, the 1st, 2nd and the third song had finished and then ireland came on represented by one of our best trad. music groups Dervish, nice song with some lovely melodic music, then more of the same boring rip off songs till the English entry, now, it was,nt the best song ive heard but was twice better than the eventual winner. This was won by a plump female Harry potter lookalike with the most boring song i ever heard, followed in second by a tranvestite tin man from the wizard of oz lookalike from, yes you guessed it, that country most famous for producing good music, Ukraine . Let Ireland and the U.K. give up attempting to win this complete shambles of a contest. I don,t think they should lower themselves to enter what has become a political song contest. Leave music to musicians, and leave this competition to politics and neighbourhood voting. Do any of you guys take this competition seriously any more?

I totally agree. What a farce this has turned out to be. O.k the UK entry was not a song that will stick in anyones mind for long, but it was certainly not the worst performance of the evening. Politics seem to rule this one time institution.
Just rubbish it for good.

Tubbs mate, you have hit the nail on the head. All this block voting has ruined what the whole thing is about and there is no sense of fair-play anymore.
I was out last night but heard the results on the way home and even the commentators were mortified be the shenanigans. Bloody disgraceful behavior and unless the organisers come up with something soon countries like the UK and Ireland will never have a chance to win again.
I know there will be those who for some reason will not be able to see how political it has all become - the blind (figuratively speaking) continue to live among us, but anyone with an ounce of understanding will see that this competition has been tarnished by the unfairness of it all.

"Fairness"? What fairness??!? It's a hyped up load of sh1t! UK were doomed before they even landed! Not a bad song but too camp and Bucks Fizz to really succeed in today's world. Bring back Puppet On A String, Boom Bang A Bang, All Kinds Of Everything, What's Another Year, and even Un Banc Une Arbour une Rue. Those were the days we had SONGS in the competition instead of rejects from the Wizard of Oz looking like spaced out tin men!

Think Paul is right in his comment it is a pile of rubbish!!!!!! it stopped being a competition years ago,it`s now no better than x`factor were people set themselves up to be knocked down by a group of judges that wouldn`t know a good song if it hit them in the face
I think it`s time it went to that big song competition in the sky lol lol lol

I remember many years ago when the Eurovision Song Contest was the musical highlight of the year, and a "must view" for most people. It is now a load of political garbage which I haven't watch for listened to for years. Bring back Sandie Shaw!!

I usually dread power cuts here - specially if I'm working. I wasn't out on Saturday and thanks to one of our frequent blackouts missed the whole thing. I couldn't even be arsed to start the generator as I remembered how bad Eurovision has become in the last few years. Nothing like one of my Gill's candle-lit suppers! Eat your heart out Mrs. Bucket.
