US economy in trouble, but...

Hey guys,

I dont really know what's going with the US economy, but I know it's bad. I know that the rest of the world probably could care less about the US economy, that is, unless it adversely affects their economy. It just seems to me that there is resentment for the US abroad, and perhaps, rightfully so, for unpopular trade and business practices conducted by the US. I dont know. I'm not an economist. I'm not in a position of authority to comment on the political and economic affairs of my country. I'm just a middle class American struggling to make ends meet just like everyone else. All I know is I love music and I love this website. Everyone I have had contact with here has been so friendly and helpful. I cant help but think how much better the world would be as a whole if people could could just love and care for one another. In this website I have found that care and concern. I have read numerous threads from people all over the world here at Midi-Mart and I feel the generosity and concern in their posts not only to others, but to me also. Music is truly the universal language. So, in closing, let me say thank you to Midi-Mart and its members for helping me hold on to the belief that there is still some good in this world, and that no matter what nationality, social status, or religious affiliation....music bonds us together and speaks to our souls. For in essence, we are all the same. We all have the same desires, hopes, fears, and dreams.

Very very true, Charlie and you'd better believe it cos most people, no matter where they come from, are basically good human beings. Those that we think are bad, have just gone astray , but with some affection and persuation, can be brought back to the fold. Just live your lives honestly and genuinely and you'll have all the love and support you deserve.
As for your concern about the U.S. economy, do remember you belong to one of the most powerful countries in the world and the ups and downs you see are only political maneuvers
by far sighted clever but sometimes unscrupulous economists to ensure the balance between demand and supply. Dont worry about it too much - it always evens out in the end !

And the same political maneuvers are distroying this wonderful land.
We are heading to the point where pretty soon a loaf of bread will cost $10, look at the gas prices now. As much I hate to say this and hope that it will not happen, that will be the day when honest leaving citizens will start to kill each other to survive/support/maintain their families, because those same citizens are already losing jobs today.
Talk about a depression? This is going to be worse then the 1930. This will be CAOS, just like what you see in those futurestic movies with a year date of something like 2061, if you know what I mean.
Anyhow,
These are just observations.
I hope and pray everyday that I am so wrong, because I have children and I don't want them or anybody else's children to go through this. They have no faults.

Thank you Shyam...for those words of encouragement. I dont really keep up with too much of the political affairs of my country...although this upcoming presidential election sure has my attention. What I find so heartwarming is the sincerety of the members here at Midimart, especially you..Shyam. Yes...I will pick up my Strat and rock 'em out this weekend, and dance they will. Then we'll all head to the Waffle House for breakfast! LOL...thanks Shyam.

Thank you gspro...I also have 2 beautiful daughters that I love more than life. I am so afraid of the world in which they will have to grow up in. All I can do is hope and pray, like you, that things will work out and goodness and truth will prevail. As far as gas prices, that brings back memories for me when I was traveling on the road back in the 70's during the Carter presidency. Although gas was a lot cheaper then, we experienced gas rationing...$10 purchase at one time for one customer. Long, long lines...and double the price you saw on the tanks. The prices soared so fast that the gas stations could not keep up with changing the numbers in the gas pumps. So you paid twice what was shown. We would travel to the next town to get more gas and eventually make our destination.
The scenario or observation you make about people being desperate is scary, albeit not far fetched because if you have to feed and support your family, and there is no job available...then that kind of desperation will make any honest living citizen do what is necessary to stay alive. Let's all hope and pray that we don't go there.....
