Hello everyone I know that this isn't the normal sort of post that gets put on here, but if you don't mind, I'd like to introduce my lovely lady wife to you via a story she wrote. I hope you like reading. I believe she has an immense, formidable writing talent and so I hope you might like to read this - with my wife's permission...to me, that is. She does write light stuff, children's stories etc. and her aim is, hopefully to become a published author. This is a story based on true events which befell her and please be warned, it is NOT light reading. The names have been changed and conversations and some of the events described have been slightly altered "for dramatic purposes." Obviously, 30 years or so dims memory, but in the main this is a true story. Jimmy McGovern, a best selling author and playwright who my wife admires, read it and said it was the most profoundly moving piece of writing he had ever read. Praise indeed. It WILL break a few hearts and how my wife coped at the time, I will never know, although I suppose you just have to. At the moment she is writing her autobiography...what a read - what a story!!! Anyway, we thought we would share this with you all. Enjoy (if that's the correct word). Bri and Jacquie. www.4shared.com/file/17966426/98f28ba/JAMIE.html

Hi Shyam. Nice to hear from you. I've just given my wife your message and she's chuffed to little mintballs. I thought this post was dead in the water, 'cos it's a bit far removed from everything on the forum, so it's nice to receive a reply. Regards Bri

Hi Mark Thx for your post - just caught it. Like I said, it's a bit far removed from the rest of the forum. Where are you up to, if I may ask. I did once hear Shirley talking about her life an a tv prog. Bri

Yes Shyam, as you now know, it IS a true story. I'm sorry to be so long replying, but I've only been popping in and out of the forum. I'm also sorry I haven't yet replied to your pm, but we went to see my mother-in-law on Saturday, as it was her birthday - and ever since then my good lady wife Jacquie hasn't been too well...not that I'm saying the two things are tied together. Anyway, as soon as is poss, I will answer your pm. Thanks for reading and commenting Shyam. Catch you later. Regards and take care Bri
