Wooooweeeeeee.....!
I've only been away over the weekend and there is a complete new board.... Holidays.
Can I get in on this one.....
I'm a coach driver, I have taken holiday makers all over Europe, France, Spain, Germany, Holland, Denmark, Italy etc etc....
The thing is, I take the holiday makes over to their destination.... For a 10 day break. Out of that 10 days, I will be working Max... 6 days. The other 4 days are my own. It is fantastic drinking Sangria on the beaches in Spain and getting paid for it...
I don't usually have to spend any money as everything is included for the driver/s.... Even in the evenings (in the bar), it's not long before one of the group buys drinks for you....
I like a drink or 10 but I have to be very careful in case I'm driving early the next day......
A REAL bus-mans holiday.
I also go away with the family as well...... And often, if there is room on the coach, they come with me on tours..... It's a fantastic life....
I don't do it so much now, but still have to take a tour twice a year as this is our firms policy.... What a life.... eh!

Wow Glenn you are a luck so and so. I know many - including your truly - who would die for a job like that I love travelling to various parts of Europe on a fairly regular basis and will be heading out to Germany and France next year [ GPS in hand] but it tends to cost a small fortune but for me it is money well spent. However if I were in your position I'd be made up As I mentioned GPS, you know, those Satellite Navigations systems, has anyone used one in Europe? I bought one recently but have only used it here in Ireland. Great tool - don't know how I ever managed without one.

We have them installed on every international coach and National Express as well....... Needless to say, I never get lost now........ But it used to be fun taking the wrong turn and ending up in a farmyard..... We used to say it was a part of the tour, and we get away with it too sometimes............ Especially if the coach is full of Japanise.....

Hi,
Well, I am not going away this year on holidays, just sticking around these parts of Ottawa, Canada. My son and I decided to spend all (my!) hard-earned money on redecorating his room (he's 15). Now he has a pretty cool (and more mature) looking room and he loves it!! oh yeah... and he's worth it!!!
PLUS, I am hoping to keep whatever other finances I have for my trip to our FORUM GIG next year hahaha!! ... as a single mum, gotta start now with our savings to make sure I will be there :-D
Rose A Happy Mom Looking forward to Her Vacation Next Year during the Forum Gig!!

Hi Guys I've just come back from a crazy 6 Days in Killorglin, Co Kerry, Ireland. I went with my Mum she's originally from there, it's for a festival called Puck Fair, it takes place every year in the town, the pubs stay open till 3.30 am, there is music all day & night, open air concerts on a stage in the square, thousands of people from all over the world, and all this is centered around a Goat being crowned King Puck! and placed in a cage on a stand high above the crowds for three days www.puckfair.ie/ Here is a link to their site if you fancy a read. It all sound a bit crazy I know, but we had a fab time, met so many lovely people, if your ever in the area when it's on it's well worth a visit. I saw two Great Bands on the centre stage, Two Time Polka, an Irish band, who play lots of lively Cajun & Bluegrass(anyone heard of them) they really had the crowd rocking, and the lovely Francis Black a fine singer and entertainer. They both gave me lots of new song ideas. And Guess what the sun shone and it never rained, now for Ireland that's a bonus! Jacqui

Egads Folks - You all make me so very jealous !!! I now have dogs I breed and show, that really are my best friends, and there is just no way now I could dump them in 'prison' (Kennels), while I swanned off to foreign parts. So now it just has to be a cabin or caravan site that accepts dogs, and in UK!!! You may find their Web site interesting - particularly 'The story of Stan' of whom I am very proud, plus my (over £3,000) import from Australia Dog, 'Olly' here.... www.britozgsds.com - there are also some pics of me in there (please note 'Tony' is not my real name!). Regards, Tony

Wow Tony, what a beautiful animal - and the German Shepard looks good too ;D ;D Sorry, couldn't resist. You make a good point about the difficulties of going on holiday when you are a pet owner, or worse still, when you bread dogs for shows, etc. I have two friends who recently went to Tunisia for a two week break and left their dog in the kennels. I actually saw the place and I have to be honest it did look pretty well kept and only cost around a tenner [euros] a day. They were happy enough, and apparently so was the dog I love dogs but don't have one myself. My mum has a German Shepard [Rambo] and loves him to bits. In fact we all do, he's like a family member at this stage
