Hi John I just updated my PA recently, but have to say was very impressed with this setup. Its very mobile and good for small venues. Did you have any issues with the setup? or are you just upscaling?

Hi Kemo, The L1 is amazing for clarity and detail, especially as it is behind you, so you can hear everything (mistakes, fluffed lines etc!) , but it lacks power for the bigger venues. I was sending 2 vocals, 2 guitars and a sequencer into it, and when the gig was quietish there is nothing to beat it, but in a loud venue it can be left a bit wanting, so I'm going back to a powered desk and EV's. I used to have a Dynacord Powermate 1000 and EV SX200's and a pair of SB121 Bass Bins, so I'll be looking for that kind of setup. Looking at EV Z4's and SX 300's, but the 300's have a crossover built in, which I don't want, also want to avoid powered speakers - getting old! Any thoughts? Oh, I just got a hold of a Yamaha 100 Watt powered desk pretty cheap. Anyone used one? Ta!

Hi Jack thats interesting I know someone who uses that setup for his solo act and swears by it. At the minute I am using a Dynachord Powermate 1600 to power my 2 x Martin blackline f15's and for the bass side Im using a Power amp to power my Martin S18's.. I fell I get a nice crisp sound from the F15's Especially for Vocal Clarity. I also use 2x zeck T3 speakers as Monitors for the larger venues. The only fault with those are that they have a built in limiter which will cut out when you overpower...
What is your budget for your new setup Jack?
I Have to say I was interested in the EV ZX5's but when the guy demonstrated the differences between the F15 and the zx5 there was no comparison. Also if you have a Martin Dealer that you know in your area you could check out the F12's which are a 12" speaker which again are quality.
Regards Kemo

Hi Kemo, My budget is fairly limited ie whatever I get for my Bose gear goes on the speakers. I'm interested in the Martin stuff - there's a pair of T10's on eBay at the moment, £400 no bids, but would they be too lacking without a sub? What am I looking for sub-wise if I go down that route? Ideally just a single sub something with a 15" driver. Any suggestions? Ta John.

Hi Jack, do you mean the F10 speaker? Id say If you probably heard the speaker youd know if it was suitable for the venues you play. Have you a Martin Dealer near you? I always think you are better taking them for a test run before purchasing. If you where maybe looking for something that may not need the Sub would you not think of trying the F12's for more power Im sure you'd get a good recon pair of those floating about for a bargain. One of the things I like with the Martin Audio Blackline is that they come in a Wooden Case (Old Style) inwhich I feel you get a better sound from in comparison to the Moulded cases that are more popular in other brands now..
Hope this Helps Kemo

Hi Kemo I've not picked them up yet- going down from the frozen North to Burnley on Fri or Sun to get them. I'm gonna run them off my Yamaha 1000 watt job till I can get a controller and a good amp to run the subs. Any ideas on what I should get, my good man? Jack.

Hi Kemo - I picked up the Martin F10's from the guy in Burnley last week - I'll be getting the subs on Sunday. I used the tops on their own with a Yamaha Powered desk, and I can honestly say these are by far the BEST cabs I've ever used! Can't wait to get the subs, then look out for an M3 controller or similar. Do you use a controller with your system? Jack.
