An Avatar is the little icon (picture) on the left underneath members names. There are some already included with your profile but these will be used up quickly.
If you wish to create a personnel icon/logo/gif (Avatar) just search the internet for free gif's, there are 1000's of sites out there one good one is www.gifanimations.com/. Just copy the URL of the gif you chose and paste it in the box provided on your profile. Be sure to right click on the icon/logo/gif and click "Properties", this will give you the size that you need to enter as well....
Goto "Profile" click "Modify Profile" and scroll down to Avatar. There you will find the box for entering the URL. Then enter the size of the gif and your done.
PLEASE BE SURE THAT THE ICON/LOGO/GIF DOES NOT EXCEED 100 X 100 PIXELS.
