Former showband member Brendan O'Brien has been found dead at his home in Blackpool in Cork.
He is thought to have suffered a heart attack. He was 67.
He was the lead singer with the well known showband The Dixies.

Thanks Larry for letting us know.
I remember Brendan. Another sad loss to the world of the Irish show-bands. I remember having the craic with his mad but very talented and likable drummer, but for the life of me can't recall his name.
Brendan was a true showman in every sense and a fine chanter.
RIP.
