Just heard of the passing of a great Pop icon of the early 1960's. Mike Smith was the keyboard player and vocalist with the Dave Clark Five, and his voice was so evident on all the big hits they had. He had suffered years of ill health recently and passed away early today.
Yet another sad loss to the world of popular music. I remember so well hearing "Glad all Over" and "All the pieces, bits and pieces......" for the very first time in 1963 and 64, both featuring Mike's voice.
God Bless and rest in peace.
Peter
