I know this part of the forum is for musicians who have gone on, but I just want to acknowledge the students who lost their lives at the Virginia Tech campus last week. My heart goes out to all the families of these students.

I agree.... Such a tragedy - such a loss of young lives - such a shame....
I know I'm over the pond in the good old UK, but the news of such incidents do reach us.... God be with the families and friends of the victims.

I work at a university. In a way, it's a lot like this forum. I believe it's supposed to be a place of openness, learning and growth, with opportunities for mutual support and sharing. When any one of those elements is missing or suppressed, the effectiveness of the institution is compromised. Perhaps the consequences aren't always as disastrous or tragic as VT but we must always be mindful of them.
Okay, so I too am off-topic...

What a horror. Such promise of a wonderful future cut short with each young life lost in such a meaningless and senseless act of violence. All the families must be searching for a reason and its so horrific and sad that there isn't one.
Lest We Forget

Just to say my thoughts too are with the friends and families of the Virginia Tech victims. The world seems to have gone crazy nowdays, with crime taking over, It's heart breaking enough when anyone dies but needless murder of Innocent people is a disgrace in any form. My prayers are with them all Jacqui

This was a shocking turn of events. Such a terrible waste of precious life.
Make no sense whatsoever why someone would want to commit such a horrendous act.
Utter madness.
My condolences to the family and friends of those involved.

May i add my own wishes to all of those above such madness is perhaps the right way to say it,i`d like to know what gives someone the right to take life this will sound silly but if only people would stop and look at what they/we have in life them compare it to those that have no control over events i have just buried my 4 day old Grandson Luca Jonathon he had no choice at life at all,the rest of us do, simply just how sad and how mad it makes me feel May God be with all the families that have lost their loved one`s and may He give them comfort as He is giving my family

Sadly something like this will be repeated again as some nutter tries to "better" what happened at Virginia.

Just saw this thread. Thanks for starting it. From someone who lives in Virginia, this really hit the community very hard.

Rocky here..
Especially hit hard for me. I was the Director of Airport Operations for seven years at Virginia Tech.
That is where I got back into music and the arts. We enjoyed working with and being involved with all of the bright young talent. My wife and I still remain with many friends from my tenure at the University.
It was a very small and laid back community. Everyone was like a large family.
You can never destroy the spirit or the institution.
God Bless...
Rocky
