Yes he's often overshadowed by John and Paul, but produced some fantastic songs both in the Beatles and solo.

I just happen to play the same model 'Gretsch Tennesean' that George played in the movie 'Help'. After researching the serial number I found out its a 1963 model. It had simulated f-holes and was unique to that model for only a couple of years. It was one of their cheaper models and I was wondering why George Harrison even bothered playing one. After all, he started out using the top of the line 'Gretsch Country Gentleman'. Maybe the Gretsch company gave it to him and he simply just used it. Anyway, I use it at my gigs and every once in a while someone will ask me about it and, of course, we end up talking about George Harrison because he was the only guitarist we know of that played one. Kind of odd when you think about it. When I'm at home and see the guitar lying in its case I do think of George. When I hold the guitar and fiddle with the knobs and feel the fingerboard I like to think that George has had the same experiences. And sometimes I like to believe that this guitar was the actual one he used. Its not true of course, but I've never seen another one around--maybe it really was his.
