......Elvis died. I am a huge fan of the King and tonight will be attending a concert (in a pub, a big pub ) given by a friend who is a fine Elvis impersonator. I may - using some of the great Elvis Midis found on the main site - even be tempted to sing a few songs myself Why not have your own Elvis night? Here's a link to the page with all those great Elvis files. www.midimart.net/pages/midi/eee.html

I have already downloaded everyone of those files, Midi Man. Great quality. I love Elvis Presley's music too. Maybe not every song but certainly the most. I am into his country songs as well, Snowbird, etc.
Long live the King!

Another fan here....Elvis was/is the man. I just bought his Aloha DVD, the deluxe version, and I got to admit he is brilliant in it. TV station TCM dedicated all of the 16th of August to Elvis. I had a great time watching (and recording some old classic films such as Jail house Rock and Viva Las Vegas. They also showed the Elvis on Tour documentary. Elvis heaven

Its hard to believe that a guy like that existed. He was magical. When I listened to his music as a teenager he took me to another magical dimension. I did not have to do any drugs to relieve my issues--everyday, right after school, I went into my bedroom and played his records for about an hour. Then I had supper and did my homework and was in general, a good boy. To think I was around when Elvis was still alive and we breathed the same air and shared the same political and worldly events. It truly was a time of magic. And we were both skinny.

I have to agree he was a great singer and entertainer. My all time favourite is the version of Are You Lonesome Tonight when he gets a fit of the giggles because of the wailing backing singer.

I think about Elvis every year on January 8, as we both share the same birth date.
Don't know why, because it's such a sappy song, but I always loved his song "Puppet On A String".
