On Saturday evening, when she was getting ready to go out for dinner to celebrate a family birthday, my sister managed to put nail glue (superglue) into her eye instead of eye drops – ouch! I can’t imagine how sore that must have been. Fortunately, after spending a couple of hours in the emergency room on Saturday night, and most of Sunday morning at the eye hospital, all is well. She’s a bit battered and bruised, and has no eyelashes left, but there is no permanent damage.
Now that we know that everything is fine, the general consensus is that she is going to have a hard time living this one down – especially with all the family get-togethers over Christmas. Don’t get me wrong – my brothers and I love our baby sister dearly - she’s so beautiful and so intelligent, but barely 24 hours later, this has already come out of the woodwork:

and that Crystal Gale song – How’d I get my brown eyes glued
then there was that line from My Guy – “nothing you can do ‘cause I’ve got some glue in my eye”
you’re just to good to be true – I’ve got my eye full of glue
Let’s face it, if you can’t rely on your family to take the ****, then who?
