"He's making a list he's checking it twice" sometimes sung as (He's making a dish of Chicken and Rice) or how about Angel of the Morning by Juice Newton "Just touch my cheek before you leave me baby" hears as (Just brush my teeth before you leave me baby) Anyone got any goodies to share

How about Hendrix's "'scuse me while I kiss this guy", as immortalised in the URL of the misheard lyrics mothership, www.kissthisguy.com ?

One I'm sure you will appreciate jacqui01: I thought KT Tunstall was singing about "Sunny Leigh -on-Sea"

In the song 'Stay' by Lisa Loeb sometimes the line 'tried to give away or keep her' is often misheard as 'give away a kipper' or is that just my hearing?

Getting back to the famous missheard line fom Purple Haze (sorry I'm a bit slow lately), the debate is whether the line was missheard, or whether Jimi started to intentionally sing it as "Scuse me while I kiss this guy". The clincher is on disc 2 of the Experience Hendrix album. It has a live version of Purple Haze, where the great one sings "Scuse me while I kiss THAT guy". No mistaking that one! ;D

Similar story to ironbaden, A drunk came up to us at a gig and wanted us to play "jazz chord" so I asked him which one? he thought I was being a smartarse so I asked him again and he started to sing "I just called to say I love you!" jazz chord = just called!

Back in the 70's our trio did the Buddy Holly song Oh Boy! with some changres to the lyrics....
the cleanest verse being.... "All my life, I've been kissing her left T*T 'cos the other one's missing Oh Boy!! Had to stay abreast of that one!! ;D

One of my favourites is the time a singer in Germany asked me for some help with his understanding of lyrics and to explain about "a ringly dell". Thinking he was into an old Donavon or Fairport Convention song or some such I went into a long involved explanation about fairies, elves, dells, and how ringly they all are. I then thought to ask him what song it was from and he said, "Chuck Berry, Johnny B Goode, you know; He plays his guitar just like a ringly dell." (ringing a bell)! His mistake was quite understandable and nowhere near as funny as my long-winded treatise on ringly dells! I still laugh about it, but mostly at myself!
