Hi Gary222 from New Zealand here. Have downloaded several midis so far and am really pleased with the quality of them and how easy they are to work with. My partner and I are a two-piece hobby duo. We have a three faceted act....as well as doing acoustic folk and country sets we also do covers of 50/60/70s music using backing tracks.. and also do barn dances using irish and scottish traditional tunes via midi. Very happy with midimart and what it has to offer. If there is anyone who has an interest in traditional tunes in midi format, would love to hear from you.

Hi Gary You seem to do quite a variety of music including Folk. Who are your influences on the Folk scene. Welcome to the forum. regards

I read with a few giggles the "quick reply" logo....well not very, sorry about that Mark. I probably only have 1 main influence and that is John Prine...some would say an obsession rather than influence...I feel I have been listening and enjoying his penmanship and simple melodies forever and never tire of singing them. they seem to be stuff that I can really relate to...obsess? not quite but I do like it. Other influences seem to come and go...I am really enjoying Emmy Lou Harris and Mark Knoffler doing Knoffler songs...we have picked a couple of songs that we are working on for our acoustic sets. I guess my main focus as far as midis is concerned is basic celtic and traditional tunes used for set dancing. I am 1 of just a hand ful of callers around here...and as I am not such a great muso ( struggling with doing the calling and playing at the same time...) and we just work as a 2 piece so I am really looking for some good quality midi tracks that we can adapt to use in our show. I have found some but generally they are just midis and a bit "tinny". Thank you for your reply and interest and I apologise once again for the delay in answering...tell me a bit about what you are doing etc. I would be interested... regards G

Hi Gary and welcome to the forum. Its good to see that the irish folk scene is alive in New Zealand. I must have a look through my archives as I had a good range of reels and hornpipes that I used to use.
All the Best
