Hi folks, my name is Roy-Andre, a Norwegian and devoted guitarist. I do play out quite a bit, using converted midifiles to mp3 as backing. I use Sonar to replace sounds with good plug-ins, and render to wave. Then I EQ in a program called Harmony Balancer (Har-Bal) and master in Sony Soundforge. When I'm done I use a program called OnStage Performer for live playback, for lyrics, lights and vocal processing. A cumbersome job, but well worth the effort. Apart from that I work as a SAR pilot, and devote the rest of the time to my family!
Good to be here!

Hi Roy,
Good to have you with us!!
You certainly do a lot more with midi than a lot of us, but that's the great thing with this site. It's here for everyone regardless of how little or how much you do with midi-files, so enjoy your time here -- you are very welcome.
Regards from Scotland.
Peter

Thankyou for your warm welcome! Busy at work these days, so I'm sorry for not responding faster. I look forward to joining the fellowship of muzos and midis John, yes the OnStage Performer is a great performance program, and after I discovered it I ditched my Tyros keyboard as I ended up using it as a backing only anyway. There are at least another two programs somewhat similar (Canadian also), and I know some use Win Amp with a lyrics plug in. What really makes it for me is the transport bar at the bottom of the page that shows you where in a song you are. The colour shows where you are, based on what colour you assigned. It does not play midi files, only mp3, wav and wma.
