.......... from sunny Wigan. Been trying my d**ndest over the last 6 months or so to get the hang of making midis from scratch (with aid of Cakewalk & inbuilt sequencer on Yam 9000pro). Have managed some fairly basic stuff so far, and am getting quite a dab hand at tweaking - even significant tweaking in some cases.
Any road, I've got bogged down whilst trying to put one together for a friend's wedding, so I thought I'd come on here to try & get some inspiration.
Wasn't life much easier when you just played tunes that didn't have to be EXACTLY like the original?!

Hi tnt, Welcome aboard. I just have to ask the question "so, you're not dynamite then?" So sorry, I apologise, I know it was rubbish, you've heard it a million times before !!! I'm afraid I just couldn't resist it. Have fun, you may have come to the right place here. There are a couple of people similarly equipped. Better rephrase that I think! There are a couple of people who also have Yammy 9000s. Who may offer friendly advice. Nitty gritty MIDI? I guess that may be me but there are others here who are no slouches when it comes to turning a mean key. All the best, JohnG.

Hopefully you'll find all the inspiration you'll need here I remember the days too when all you needed was a guitar and a reasonable voice and were encouraged to just do your own versions of hits, but you're right: these days we have to measure up to the original. A big ask for many of us ;D

Thanks for the welcome messages everyone. The TNT moniker came from a school PTA cabaret night we were doing all fun amatuer stuff), and I was accompanying a singer who for the night was called "Johnny Dynamite"...... after his song, the compere told the audience that wasn't his real name ...... his real name was RAYMOND Dynamite !......... and because I was jealous of his stagename, for the rest of the night, I wanted to be called TNT !! Lame, but true!................... and it's stuck !!

Ha Ha. I wondered whether it might be something like that. Perhaps, as you were jealous of the name, we should address you as "dynamite"? What d'you think? All the best and welcome again, JohnG.
