Hi, Karn here.
I am mainly (as the thread says) an Apple Mac audio professional, doing mostly studio engineering and audio restoration. I also play a variety of stringed instruments.
I hope I can help anyone with Mac questions (Cubase, Garageband, Soundtrack Pro and Logic Pro) although with my mad schedule it may not be too quick!
Thanks for reading!
Karn.

Hi there MacMan, Welcome to the asylum. Nice to know we've got a Mac specialist onboard. I'm not sure how many (few ) Mac users we've got here but I, for one, would like to know what audio restoration tools you use and what sort of music (age, genre) you're typically restoring? Have fun here, Best regards, JohnG

Hi JohnG,
I am a big fan of Soundtrack Pro for certain noise issues (easy to use, but easy to over-process too!) and Cubase amongst others can tell you a lot with their analysers.
I have worked on old film sound going to DVD, aswell as music. Film transfers can produce their own issues, particularly when you don't have control over the transfer from the old master (often they are carefully guarded, and I don't really want the responsibility of using them most of the time). Music engineering wise, I am involved in everything from classical to metal and dance.
Must go to the studio now, See you all a bit later...
Karn.

Welcome aboard..Have a pretty good studio myself along with the performing group. Wish you were a PC guy, always getting myself in a crack with mix downs and audio. You will enjoy the group here, very broad cross section and a lot of talent. Fell free to check out our web site www.jazzbluesanddiamonds.zoomshare.comRocky
