Hello... Sadly I've been too busy with "real life" to devote much time to my music lately, but hope to rectify that over the next few months. Previously I've been a working musician both in band situations, and as a solo act (guitar/bass & keyboards) for 30 years, as well as worked selling instruments on a wholesale level throughout North America for 20 of those years.
I'm right out of the music biz now, but keep my Macs up to date with Logic Express, Harmony Assistant and Band in a Box. (checking out the latest Logic Studio just announced last week... any early feedback?) Over the winter I hope to get back into some home recording and perhaps a few solo gigs for the first time in a few years.
We live in Brampton, Ontario, Canada... and I'm looking forward to getting caught up with what's new and chatting with other members.

Thanks for the welcomes... I've been impressed with the files I've tried so far... By the way my (second) wife and I had our honeymoon in Yorkshire in '96. We're hoping to get back again next year. We loved York, Whitby and Fountain's Abbey especially.

Welcome aboard..
Is it true that you guys put pictures of naked women on your paper currency in order to freak out the lads in the middle east and to prevent counterfeiting your paper money? LOL
I think we should put Hillary Clinton on our US currency. That would be enough to scare anyone to death.

After a fairly successful career in piano and organ retail sales I joined a 'start-up' company in Canada in 1981... Bontempi! Remember them? They actually had a factory for reed organs in Granby Quebec at that time, and were beginning to get involved with electronics... In 1981 I joined and began selling these funny little keyboard instruments as a second line to established Lowrey, Hammond, Wurlitzer dealers. Later Bontempi took over Farfisa (Cheesy organ anyone?) and began developing more sophisticated instruments. We placed an organ at the Forum in Montreal which was played by Dian Bibaud at all the Canadiens games, and when I finally left the company in 1995 they were dabbling in MIDI workstations... Pretty impressive, but still behind the Korgs, Yamahas and Rolands of the world. I understand they have now reverted to their roots as pretty well strictly an accordian and toy manufacturer.
Most of the dealers I worked with were in Ontario, although I do remember meeting Aubrey Boone (I think that's the right name) in Dartmouth, NS... We usually sold in those days through Piano and Organ stores rather than M.I. type (Steve's music)...
Now at home I have a Farfisa Theatre Organ (Like the one that WAS in the Forum), an F-1 Farfisa Digital workstation, and a Roland Digital Piano... plus a 40th anniversary Strat and an Ovation Custom Balladeer Deep Bowl. I've been drooling over the Roland E series arrangers and the Yamaha Tyros 2.
Sorry... I'm rambling! More information than anyone wanted, I'm sure!!!

Well tubbs... I think that the wife and I are pretty certain that York is one of our favourite places. I'd been there once before with my Dad but the blushing bride had never been overseas! I was concerned that she'd be as fascinated with the history as I, but I needn't have fussed... She LOVED it... we were back at the Minster for three days running... anyway, that hasn't anything to do with MIDI files does it?
