Hi everyone, this is the first forum I've ever joined- 41 years in coming! I'm looking forward to using this forum to learn new stuff, and hopefully to help others too! I use a Yamaha qy700 hardware sequencer into a Roland XV5050 for live work, but I've taken the plunge and bought myself a Korg Triton LE Workstation, as using floppy disks live is doing my head in! If anyone else uses this keyboard I'd like to hear about it, especially how to edit SMS files on it. If anyone needs any help with the QY, or programming lighting stuff on midi, then I'll try and help! Thanks for having me! Jackothescot.

Welcome aboard dude...I am from even farther north.. Texas.. You just keep driving north til it becomes south and your here.
It is a freezing 96 Fahrenheit here today, maybe that will warm you up a bit. LOL
In reply to your question. I had a Triton and went to the Roland G-70 and a couple of Yamaha PSR 3000s for the gigs.
The triton was a bit of a trick to bring up files. As you know, you can save them to the flash card which you can't get anymore.. or the best thing would be to save them from you PC to the sequencer or better yet, use a external drive to the Triton. I also have two large capacity cards that I got from the factory before they stopped making them. Would give them to you for my cost if you need them. They are still new in the box.
I have two sccs drives that I do not use anymore. You are welcome to them for the postage if that would help.
I have a lot of older gear about the studio with PC connectors, tons of wire and midi cables that I will never use. Free to anyone for the post.
I download all of the arrangements to usb sandisk and plug it directly into the 3000..very cool and no more floppies and midi cables...
Regards Rocky

Hi Jacko and yet another welcome to the forum -- this time from the sunny West ( of Scotland that is ). I'm interested in your use of the QY 700. My brother in Aussie uses one to make his music files, and while I was out there earlier in the year he saved a whole bunch of them for me in GM1 which is the system I use. You probably guessed it!! They don't sound right in my midi player, a Viscount RD 800. I've tried making some changes in Cakewalk, but although I can change drum sounds to channel 10, all the other sounds are still weird. Have you come across this before and can you make any suggestions -- within reason please. Hope you enjoy your new life in the forum.
