I have enjoyed visiting Midimart for some time because of the qulaity of the discussions and the quality of the midi files. I don't submit much because I am still learning about midis and digital keyboards. I simply like to listen, learn and play. I have 2 Yamaha digital keyboards (CVP305 and PSR3000) as well as an accoustic piano. Whilst I have played piano & pipe organ for many (many) years the opportunities for midi are very enjoyable (and challenging). I am privileged to be able to play piano and/or keyboard in aged care facilities in and around metropolitan Adelaide and some country parts of South Australia on average 2 times a week. I find this really enjoyable and very satisfying as I am able to provide entertainment to those who are often less fortunate than us. So here it is - I have posted my first message on a website discussion board. Regards, TPF

Hi TPF, and nice to hear a bit about you. The majority of us are in the same position as you, we are still learning about Midi, and this is the place to learn.
By sharing any knowledge with the rest of the forum, the learning process goes on and on.
Look forward to reading more of your posts soon

Hi TPF:
I'm Dennis from Iowa, USA, another recent joinee of this board and also a newby to MIDI. I noticed you play for oldsters in homes. I, too, have done that for years. When I lived in Minnesota, USA, years ago, I used to drag an amp, a mike and my acoustic-electric guitar to a number of the area nursing homes and perform for a set or two for free. It was a way to practice and yet entertain a very appreciative audience.
Now that I have moved south to the slightly warmer climate in Iowa, I still pay regular visits to people who can no longer leave their homes due to one infirmity or another. My wife works for a local hospital, taking care of clients in their own homes. With the blessings of her employer and the relatives of her patients, I frequently haul my Fender Acoustasonic and a mike and guitar to their homes and give an hour and a half performance. I've upgraded the equipment (most of these people love amplification), but the show's pretty much the same - golden oldies.
It's a great and easy way to give to people and the appreciation they show in return makes it all worthwhile.
Cheers,
Dennis

Hi Tpf, Welcome. Glad too that you play the 3000 - I still use a 9000 Pro - still not impressed with the Tyros or 3000 enough to part with my heavyweight keyboard. I would love to get the Keyboard Players section of this Forum really going. In the meantime, why not try joining a couple of the better Yamaha Forums? (Where I am 'Musicmaker') .... www.yamahapkowner.com/forum/index.phpor www.svpworld.com/forum/Hope to see you there as well. Kind regards, Tony
