I play drums and my wife plays keyboards, and we work in a club as resident backing duo. We've both been in clubs since we were around 12 years old, so we've seen BIG changes, and seen a lot of clubs close, due to lack of investment in both money and enthusiasm! We have a good balance were we work, and often have bands and live acts on the same show, so the audience get the best of both worlds. We use Roland XP80, Korg Triton, Korg 05 module/Roland PK bass pedals for the keys, and I have Premier/Sabian gear, with Ddrum triggers into an Alesis DM5, Roland SPD21 (octopad), and it's all sent to 2 Peavey 2600 amps, to drive a pair of HiSys 2's, and 4 Pro-Logic 15 bins, then into the house system of DAS 15 bins and Electrovoice tops. The sound is the best anywhere (even if I say so myself)! For opening the show, and fill-in music we sometimes use tracks, with tr10 (drums) removed or modified, and piano/lead taken out for my wife to play over. I always record the midi onto minidisk, as we've had problems with 'live' midi before, and it's not funny when it all kicks in wrong at the start of a show! Any help I can give anyone on triggering from live drums, just shout! I've been doing it live for 15 years now, so I've sorted the bugs out! Regards. Waverunner

Waverunner, great to have you on board. Sounds like some set-up. Bet you're glad you don't have to break that down & set it up every night ! Looking forward to your contributions,
