Hi Everybody, My name is Ted and I am from Huntsville,Alabama also known as the Rocket City.I have been a working musician most of my life and I just turned 57 years old this past November.I've played the guitar and sang in many bands over the years and they always broke up for one reason or other,so in 1997 I started to use midi backing tracks when I saw someone else doing it,It looked like fun and I didnt have to worry about someone quitting the band and having to start all over again.I have been doin' the midi thing ever since.Sometimes I play with another guitar player and sometimes a drummer or both,I also play solo.Midi is not for the faint of heart though. But if you like to work it is one way to go. I love 60's & 70's rock mostly. When I saw the Beatles on Ed Sullivan Show I knew what I wanted todo. But recently my life was changed dramaticaly when I was diagnosed with Lung cancer this past August 2006.Now I can't play in the clubs any more and I really miss playing becuse it has been my life an now I'm just fighting for my life.I've been under going Chemotherapy and Radiation Therapy. If anyone knows any one going through this let me know.Sincerly,Ted

Hi Ted Welcome aboard I think it was The Beatles that got most of us baby boomers started in music! But not many have carried on. I remember recently bumping into a person I hadn't seen for 20 odd years and he asked sarcastically "are you still playing in a band? " as though it was time to quit that and act my age, but for many of us it is like a drug, stop playing and you get withdrawl symptoms! Cancer is a terrible disease, I am currently caring for my father who has cancer of the lung, he has had the Radiation Treatment but unfortunately the Chemo knocked him around to much (the treatment was worse than the disease!) but like a typical Paddy (from Cavan) he's fighting on. Hope things go well for you Ted. John

Hi Ted,
Greetings from a fellow BAMA musician. I am from LA (Lower Alabama). Your love of music and performing is obvious from your posting. I hope that you can keep playing for many years. Don't let the illness stop you from finding someway to share the songs inside you. I believe our creator loves music the same way we do. Medical science is doing great work, so keep the faith and we will pray with you. A brother, Xing ( PS... Roll Tide, unless you are an Auburn Fan)
