Hello Everyone
Greetings from India. I'm a singer who used to play guitar but am now accompanying myself on keyboards sometimes playing " live" but most of the time using MIDI backing tracks. I had a well knit group called the "WEST WIND" at Bangalore - 3 guitarist, keyboards and drums, but we disbanded and we are in different places. I'm presently with a fabulous musician called Elvis Figredo who is a whizz at the keyboards ( He has a YAMAHA PRO 9000). I have a PSR 3000 presently and the both of us play at gigs. Its a great arrangement as we have a vast repertoire and both of us sing - rock, pop, blues, r&b, country, blues reggae standards etc etc etc. With our own equipment(consisting of dB speakers, bass bins, Behringer mixer, cross over, EQ etc we get a clean sound all the time.
Recently, I was down with demyelination - MS (Multiple Sclerosis) and couldnt sing, but with Ayurvedic treatment am back to normal and happy to be alive and singing (or rather singing and alive).
Glenn and Patrick of MidiMart have been kind enough to keep me in the Forum. I continue to be a "parasite" using MIDIS from the mart to help me sing. I hope to be able to contribute soon or atleast help others find their midi files.
Oh yes, we only do English songs - guess its the genetic influence - my great grandfather was an Englishman - Hannyngton !!! I've been in India all my life singing songs in the Commonwealth !!! I'll be 60 next month !!!! Ooooops !! Guess it doesnt matter. As long as I can still sing "I want to break free" by Queen, in the original key, I'm okay !!
Greetings to all especially to the MidiMart team
Warm regards
Shyam
