Just a few lines to introduce myself as I'm new to the forum although I've been in the biz for over 40 years (started when I was six months old). Played keyboards and vocals with my own trio and quartet on Mecca in the '60s and various commercial outfits in and around the Nott's, Derby's Leic's area up to 2001 when I semi-retired to sunny Cyprus. Until I moved here I was always a bit of a purist - vowing that if I couldn't play it I would leave it out of the pad rather than use midi files. All that changed when I realised that to sound anything like the bands I had left behind in England I had to use midi. Having downloaded several mediocre amateur files and attempting to improve them using Cakewalk with limited success, it was a breath of fresh air to come across the Midimart site. In the five or so years since I started using them I have accumulated a fair sized collection of midis so if I can help with any rare ones I'll be happy to help. Take care out there and keep busy, Roger B

Hi Roger.
Welcome to the forum, glad you found the site of interest and hopefully the forum too.
As to your archive of midi/karaoke files, please keep an eye out on the requests page. I'm sure you will be able to help out there.
I actually live in Nottingham UK as I'm quite sure you already know, but retiring to Cyprus (Oh what a dream), I think I'd get homesick too quickly and my family would miss me too much and I them...... But then again, WHEN I win the lotto I can charter my own plane.....
Again welcome Roger....

Thanks for the warm welcome. I look forward to some lively and informative debates. I'm currently using a Technics KN3000 for gigs and a Roland EM2000 for home use and experimenting with making my own midi files. I'm not in your league where that's concerned but I'm enjoying tinkering. Once again thanks for the welcome. Regards to all, Roger
