Dave here (pirinst) from Portland Or. Got news of this site by a PSR2100 forum user (TyrosTrax) that does a lot of midi songs on that forum.
Been playing keyboards live for about 3 years now after playing bass guitar for about seven years and got bored.
Casio MZ2000 has been my favorite live play board-unfortunately it's been discontinued and unsupported anywhere on the net that I've looked. Great live band board. Very hard to beat for the price. I don't use the styles and patterns, just play chords and notes-also do vocals.
Recently got a Yamaha PSR2100 which is light years ahead of the Casio for smf loading and editing but not as good for live work.
Play by ear so it takes longer to learn stuff, but really enjoy the flexibility of keyboards. Midi music is really fun for me. I have a version of Santana's She's Not There that should be on the forum next week. It is my first really serious midi and should hopefully be up to the standards that I've heard in the songs on this forum so far. The finalized cd version is really nice but I haven't purchased the program that makes midi mp3 conversions yet.
Done about five or six songs prior but didn't have the midi edit program so didn't try to post them. They do sound good on the finalized cd version with vocals, of course.
Looking forward to doing future music and visiting the site.
Other hobbies include digital photography and motorcyle race track riding
