As many other members have commented; the older we get the harder it is to keep up with the times. I have been a full-time muso for nearly 20 years and yes....the gear is getting heavier, technology seems to be getting more complicated (or harder for an old dog to learn) and all the bands are sounding the same let alone R'n'B artists. As an alternative to live performance I set myself up to DJ both mobile and in pubs & clubs. Did I learn a lot in a short space of time. The punters soon let me know what I should be playing and when and before too long I was in the swing of things. This venture helped me appreciate dance music in so many different ways. The buzz of filling the dance floor is so similar but yet so different from performing live. Maybe this is my midlife crisis but hey, I'm enjoying both forms of entertainment.

Thanks for an interesting post my friend. I've often thought of making the transition to DJ'n. In fact 2 good friends of mine did just that and I guess its what their into. They still gig live but like to into the clubs every week and fill the dancefloor. Just like yourself.
Nice to hear from you Cheers.
