Just a quick hello to one and all, and a bit about me.. I play guitar in a local Rock n Roll/Rock band, and guitar and keyboard (with midi) in a blues band. But am looking (with our 4 piece) going out without the drummer, as he is in three bands already and we have lost gigs because he just wasn't available. So I recently got myself a Roland Discover5. I am now learning how to use it and of course looking for good midi files to play with... I have also got cakewalk on my pc, so can to a certain extent, adapt the files before loading them on the keyboard. I have been playing guitar for over 30 years... that makes me feel old... but love getting up on stage and making music. We have just started putting out music on to cd and producing our own stuff.. getting there but it does take a long time along with the day job...
anyway thats me..

Hi and welcome Mal.
Greedy drummer. I suppose it's good to be in demand.
Well Mal, it's nice to know that you still get that buzz from gigging, I must say after 30 years you must be dedicated (or mad). It's also good to know that so many muso's still enjoy what they do on an evening.
I bet you have some stories to tell, bad nights good nights etc. Lets hear a few.

Thanks for that Glenn,
He is a very good drummer, He plays Rock n Roll/Rock with us, Jazz and in a concert Brass band... so very flexible and has now four drums kits including an electonic one.... Still love the buzz of performing live and its fun to get recording too, that has always been an ambition of mine to get a cd in the shops.... Down here in the deep south (Weymouth) we are very lucky as the live music scene is bubbling all the time, with lots of venues to play at. The best gig as far as little time to practice etc was whilst I was still in the Royal Navy, and in a multi country force a few of us got together (all different nationalities) to play in Russia for the local diplomats etc and with very little rehearsal time, but we managed to do it... that left a very good feeling and still today I am in contact with one of the Cadanians that played then. I have now got some very nice equipment but like all things it has taken me a long time of practicing gigging and saving to get here... and with the advantage of midi files I hope to be doing different things in the near future...
