Hello to all. I am a vocal music teacher in a high school in New Jersey, USA. (27 years in the classroom) I have been really enjoying the files on this site. I do my own sequencing of the accompaniments of Choral songs that I teach the kids.I use them in Concert so that I can conduct. Additionally, I will use midis off the net when we do outside projects. I assign each kid a song, and if I can find adecent file of it online, then it saves me the time involved with sequencing the file myself. Sometimes searching for a decent file will talk me longer than if I had just sequenced the song myself. At any rate, I have heard many decent files on this site. Keep up the good work1

Hi Rubi and welcome to the forum. Thank you for your kind words, they are appreciated. I lived in New Jersey (Lake Wood) for about six months back in 1984. Had some great times there and met some wonderful people.

I am definitely not a saint! Teaching music to kids is fun! Actually high school kids are fun! They are old enough that you can talk to them at a relatively adult level, but young enough that they will still do silly little things in performance if you convince them that it really is cool. A few quick examples : I had one male 12th grade student dress up as a female and join my Women's ensemble for a choreographed number. I constantly make my Men's ensemble dress up as sailors. This year at Christmas we are doing one novelty number which is a 1970's take on 'The 12 Days of Christmas". When we reach the Disco section, the entire choir is going to break out with flashing LED disco glasses and the males will dance John Travolta style. Of course they sing more standard repetoire, but I can usually talk them into anything!
Pat, Lakewood, NJ is about 30 minutes from me.
Thanks to Glenn for encouring me to use the files as needed for my situation.

Pat, Lakewood, NJ is about 30 minutes from me. Hi Rubi. The memories are flooding back And I do remember my time in N.J with great affection. very nearly got married to a girl from Sea Girt, she would be in her late 40s today. I gigged in many of the Irish run bars in and around the Lakewood area, but I also played a lot in New York City, travelling up and down I - 95 and getting stuck at the Jersey Turnpike - and yes - I heard the joke about "which exit" Here's a link for those not familiar with this "famous" Turnpike: www.nycroads.com/roads/nj-turnpike/
