I downloaded this one from the main site(under eddie cochran) It's a cracking file but the bass drum seems to be out of synch on bars 4 and 38.I've tried repairing it but without success. Would some kind sole like to have a listen and let me know what they think? Thanks Eddie

Thanks Gibbo.I found it ok.It was sitting at 500ms so i changed it to 480ms,but i'm afraid it made no difference to the drums on 3 steps to heaven.I've since been given many versions by some kind hearted members,so i've got the file that i want. But i'm still puzzled as to how the drums are not in synch on bars 4 and 38. Thanks for your time and knowledge Eddie

I'm now using an Okyweb player and have to convert all my files to Mf3, using the Okyweb software. The Showaddywaddy version of Three Steps To Heaven shuts my programme down when I try to convert -- all other files work oK. When I check this file in Cakewalk there are over 100 muted tracks which don't seem to be there for any reason, and I'm wondering if this could be causing the problem. I am not able to get rid of these muted tracks and wonder if anyone can help send me the file without all these muted tracks so I can try again. It's a good file and I'd like to continue using it on my new Okyweb player. Any other suggestions would be very welcome -- thanks guys.
Peter

Would some kind sole like to have a listen and let me know what they think? Thanks Eddie You're quite right. On the drum track in measures 4 and 38 there are numerous NRPN messages, not to mention lots of GS SysEx messages sprinkled liberally through the nylon guitar track. I'm not quite sure what the NRPNs are doing there as many of them seem to be repetitions. It's possible that they are causing a hiccough on some playback systems. It's an older MINVEC production but, if you like I could try to rationalise them and re-post the file? Best regards, JohnG.

Peter Yes, as you say there are loads of tracks set to channel 1 with just the text "MIDI" in them. They seem to serve no useful purpose whatsoever. You could just delete them. Sadly they are one of the trademarks of using the JazzWare sequencer. There are many useful things in this program but also much c**p. The good thing is it's free. The bad thing is that nobody seems to maintain it any more. I don't use it now. You do remember that JazzCat has offered to edit MIDI files with faults in them? But you have to post them to her first. Best regards, JohnG.
