To edit midis we use Powertracks (and sometimes Band in a Box), and to play then we still use powertracks, using Roland VSC as the output driver. You can also use the Roland VSC as a stand-alone application to play midis. It also has an excellent midi to MP3 convertor.

Winamp to listen to, Cakewalk 9 to edit and my PSR 3000 to play my Midis at gigs. I havent used Karaoke files off the keyboard cos I cant read the lyrics in the display, but I'll be plugging a lcd monitor to the video out, soon and get rid of my song books !! Do you use song books. Kristine?

I found Kara fun a bit slow to play the midis (thanks for the sugestion) . it seams to take time to load where as Vanbascoes plays instantly . it also has an auto reset.... to set the sound moduel back to standard. Do you guys actually use the Yamaha SYXG and the Roland VSC as the main out put for the midis for the nights work at your gig

Hi Guys I will try all your sugestions Thanks. I used to use a roland sound module now using a yamaha mu90 R Its awesome as using XG works I can add an equaliser to the base and drums when required as it gives it a really fat sound. there is also an EQ for the whole midi and master volume to help get the files at the correct level.
