soundfont banks

hi! i read in the forum not so long back about members wanting good soundfont banks. here,s a link to a good site,you will have to register first which is free,then look in the download sections for soundfont banks.there are 100,s to choose from.however i mut commend one which is virtual sound canvas 1.0 which is 55 mb.this is an exact clone of vsc3,but has more presets and instruments on it.the clarity and depth is the same too!.the one good thing with using this soundfont bank over the vsc3 module is latency! there isn,t any!! so recording to your tracks will be a lot easier.it is also compatible with all roland sounds,as is vsc3.i have been trying to get a roland soundbank for ages.this one is it.i just finished trying it out,and cannot find any difference between this and vsc3.well maybe some of the instruments sound just a bit better,i,ll let you decide. www.sf2midi.com

down on the left side under search there is a box sf2 there is a selection bar which says piano,scroll down to collections and click.this will take you to the bank collections page.yes it is listed as virtual sound canvas 1.5

The closest I could find for VSC was "055.1mg Sound Canvas V1.0 Bank" vs the "1.5" that you mentioned

They do have a bank titled Fluid R3 GM v1.36 that I have used for quite a while. Highly recommend it.

Same here. It also took foever to download and I am on high speed connection.

What about the VSC-MP1?
Is this a new version of the Virtual Sound Canvas? Below is a link for it. Also, to any one familiar with it, does the VSC or any prior versions respond to the GS system exclusive messages? I am more interested in using the internal FX as you would on the hardware
SC/SD series.
Any responses are greatly appreciated.

This is the same version of vsc but it is a multi=pack hence the mp1 of the title. It has the vsc plus the dxi and vst versions of the same thing.

VSC does respong to GS sysex, at least it does on my pc!

it is the same as the dxi plugin that uses gm2 configuration,and as such has more preset sounds

if your downloads are slow.it could be the downoad manager that you use.i use flashget and use mozilla browser.after it has been configured it downloads at about500-700kbs whereas with the bog standard download only 150-250kbs a big difference!

I had serious download issues and it turned out the problem was my Internet connection. Apparently my phone line (I recently upgraded to dsl broadband and was using satellite BB) is not capable of dealing with a 2 mg speed. I was cut down to 1 mg and the difference is amazing.
