Hi
Although I've been using midi backing tracks for about 5 year, my knowledge is still very basic.
We are 2 guitarist using laptop, vanbasco player and Edirol SD80 Sound Module.
One file we have, the brass sound is played via my roland VSC soft syn but all brass is not played via the SD80. I can see via Vancasco that the channel is active and playing as the midi output section shows that channel with those bar lights but no sound.
Maybe it's something that needs to be set on the SD80 but it's so complicatated I only use it strictly as a sound module.
Any assistance would be much appreciated as we hope to usse that file again in a wedding gig next month. Our last gig last month, we had no brass just the bass/drums.
Rgds Pat

Hi Pat, If you want to send me the MIDI file I'll take a look at it and try to discover why you're not getting any sounds. I've got an SC8850 which is not a million miles from your SD80. It's probably a GS command of some sort not properly implemented or something like that. Send it to garsidejl@yahoo.co.uk and I'll look for it. JohnG.

I'll need to have a look at the manual. We never touched any of the settings since we bought it...the manual looked too overwhelming to midi virgins like us gds pat
