I have a Korg PA800 keyboard and love it. Are there anymore owners out there, it would be good to compare notes and upgrade info with other owners.

Hi Mark
Yes I have recently acquired a new Korg PA800 and am just feeling my way with it. So far so good but a long to go in terms of reading manual etc. Looking forward to OS1.5 but a little nervous about the new MP3 board and having to entrust KB to a third party to instal it.
Rgds, Michael

Hi Guys, I also have a PA800 same level as Mark, not a good manual reader either, I am in the process of coverting a gig midi file setlist from Korg i30 format to PA800, time consuming but worth the effort once done and saved. I too would be keen to learn from higher mortals. Regards, growe.

Just got back from holiday and am really pleased that there are more PA800 owners out there, this machine is so GOOD. Did a gig a couple of weeks ago with it and it's just like having a real band with you!!, we did some Tina Turner stuff and it had the files for supper- BIG TIME. Next time i'm going to send the drums out as a stereo pair and control the volume seperatly with no effects on them, i think this will give me even more of a live sound.

Mark, I have upgraded the software a few times, the latest being OS 1.51 and the corresponding musical resources. These are free and available from KORG's website. I have also purchased and installed the MP3 board...got it from Thomann for about Eur240. As I'm just an amateur I cannot give an expert view on these extras but they seem to solve a lot of bugs and to provide some extra sounds and other goodies. The MP3 board was small and a bit of a tight fit but I managed to instal it OK with the instructions. I've been away from the music for 5 or 6 weeks (recovering from a sudden brain haemorrhage and lucky to be alive) so I'm just feeling my way back right now.
Regards, michael

Hi Geoff, Have not had much time lately to browse the site, just had a look and thought I would wish you and yours a Happy New Year, and will try to contact you and hopefully meet up. This time of year means I have to dash around my customers and update etc. Maybe when I semi retire I will have more time for the interesting stuff!!
Hope to speak to you soon.
Best regards, growe.

Hi Michael
Sorry to hear about your illness, sounds like you are a very lucky man - glad that you are still with us!!. I have also loaded the new opperating system into the PA800 and it seems to have some new goodies, i especially like the graphic equalizer in Global, it gives the instruments more seperation when running sequences. I have not yet investigated the new Guitar mode, this looks fantastic if it works!!. I will let you all know.
Best wishes Mark

Guitar sounds much improved on the PA80, these upgrades really make a difference. I have noticed on the Korg PA800 forum that people are having problems loading samples into their instruments, i thought that the PA was not a sampler, has anyone got any news/thoughts about this??

Hi Guys, I haven't tried sampling on the PA800, mainly cos I don't know how, but also cos there seem to be lots of problems reported by users who use this facility. I recently added the VIF4 video interface with an external 7 inch tv screen which scrolls lyrics and chords for a vocalist/guitar player and this is working fine. Also upgraded to OS 1.60 and MR 1.60 both again working fine. Plus I added a damper pedal which gives me sustain if I need it---but I find that I can probably sustain the sounds just by holding down the notes. I also found free software called PSRUTI which adds the chords to a KAR or MIDI file which already has embedded lyrics. Regards, Michael
