Hi Have you used USB lights which you can attach to your US flash drive port at the rear of the PSR 3000 ? They really are useful and are bright enough to illuminate the song books on the music stand. Pretty cheap to buy too ..... about 2 pounds !

they run at about 5volts,watch out it doesn,t draw to much power from your keyboard!it,s different when plugging in to a pc it gives out more power, just a thought! steve

Hi Shyam, My only concerns would be as Steve mentions above. However many people on the Yamaha Forums use them, and don't report any probs. However, I am lucky as my 9000 Pro has a pair of 'Gooseneck' lights, with a variable level which come as an optional extra - they are brilliant (Pun!)! Kind regards, Tony

Tom,
Sunny and I had one of these each, but she has just sold hers, to buy the latest keyboard from Yamaha - The S900 - I will keep my 9000 Pro (pictured above) until I curl my toes up - but as it weighs a wapping 56 pounds, Sunny found it too heavy to heave around her gigs.
I wish I could play and bend a guitar like you do matey - its just horses for courses!
Kind regards
Tony

lovely piece of kit john!,i have now decided on my next keyboard, the MM6.i know it doesn,t have an inbuilt amp,but i can use one from a pc,is that one of those you have on your,s?.you can get a decent 30watt amp with a bass port, should get some good sounds from it.i have also found out it will still play midi,s from a usb stick, and play styles as well.which is similar to what mine does, but there the similarities stop!it is described as a synthesizer, arranger keyboard.it,s nickname is mini mo,short for motif! which you will know all about.the sounds it uses are very similar to the ones used in my forte1.5 plugin.it uses recorded wav samples of instruments.so far the bank in the plugin is 433mb in size, which is a lot larger than MM6,but it has a lot more suprises up it,s sleeve. all the best steve

Using a USB lite on a laptop can make the laptop overheat if you don't vent it properly and never on battery power as it will drain batteries very quickly....

Not quite USB, but if you have a mixer that supplies phantom power to your mics you can get phantom-powered lights that illuminate your mixer board. Put one on the end of an XLR cable and clip it anywhere you want. Beware, though - phantom power supplies are designed for the very low current draw required by mics, not as a general-purpose power source. Use only a light specifically designed for the purpose.

Here is another way out - I used to use an 'Anglepoise' type light which I could direct almost in any direction, that had a transformer built into the base, to run the low-voltage flourescent tube in the lamp head. This was my stage 'Set Up' when I was using the Tyros 1, before I switched to the 9000 Pro pictured above ! Steve, have a look at the Logitec 2300 speakers for home use (2X40 Watts RMS, and 120 Watts Sub Woofer, which also has the amplifier built in). About £80 from Amazon. Kind regards, Tony

thanks tony!if you want a low powered solution ,get a transformer for the low wattage kitchen setups you can get from B and Q,i think they are 12 volts, and look like a powere supply for a laptop.you can then power as many 12volt tubes as you want.or use one of the spots!! steve
