Hi Folks, I think this is the best place to post this - in 'Tributes' As it is a tribute to the brave people of New York 6 years ago! Today, we are on the eve of 9/11 and the 6th Anniversary of Twin Towers New York. I especially remember it well, as it was only a few days before Sunny was to fly here to UK from the US to join me for the rest of our lives. Everyone at the time in US were almost paranoid, nothing like this had ever happened in the World, and on that day, everything in the Western World changed for ever. Sunny was pleaded with by her family and friends not to fly at that time, but she did. She flew from an absolutely deserted Seattle Airport, on a flight which had only a handful of passengers. Could I ask all our members to watch this Presentation? - The time it takes will be your time of contemplation and remembrance of this horrific act, which cost the lives of over 3,000 innocent people, and ruined the lives of perhaps a million Americans who were family, relatives and friends of the people who lost their lives on that day. The day that changed all our lives, for ever. There is no need to actually download the file. If you click on the 'download', which appears after a short wait, and click on 'Open' rather than 'Save' it will eventually play on its own. It is a Power Point Presentation, which requires rou to have a Power Point reader in your computer - most have! www.4shared.com/file/23896734/cf10a10a/9-11.htmlSunny will be posting a tribute song on the day, for all her countrymen, 4,000 miles away. Thank you! Tony

I know many want to just forget this tragedy, but I think it has now made it's mark in history.
Thanks for your reminiscing Tone....
I can remember, I was just preparing breakfast that morning (Time Difference), and my wife says there has been a terrorist strike in the US..... I obviously didnt believe her, what with all the security and all. Bit I never even dreamed that terrorism would come from the air.... Car bombs, suicide bombs, nail bombs or even mortar bombs..... But from the air....
My heart goes out to everyone who knew someone that was there.....

I remember it well, as I work right across the river from the Pentagon. I commute by bus to the Pentagon building and then transfer to a Metro (subway) train there to continue into Washington, DC. I was at the Pentagon Metro stop platform less than an hour before the plane hit the Pentagon. Things just got progressively worse after that. They released us from work around 11:00am; it took me about 6 hours to get home (thanks to the good graces of a co-worker who gave me a ride, since I obviously couldn't go back by way of the Pentagon.)
We live somewhat under the flight path for Dulles International Airport and planes are often circling overhead. After they grounded all the airplanes following 9/11, we had gotten used to the quiet. Then one day (when it should have been quiet), we heard planes going overhead, and our hearts definitely skipped a beat. We didn't know what was going on. We went out to our back yard and sure enough, there was a 747 in the sky with military escort. Turns out the President was heading back to Washington, DC.
