What a terrible shame.
I'm a great fan of American Soul and 60s R&B - was too young to appreciate it first time around, but it's still great to listen to.
Wilson Pickett was arguably one of the finest soul singers of the time.

Very sad news indeed. A wonderful artist in every sense of the word who will be sorely missed.

I for another remember the soul sound of Wilson Pickett, there are many good songs by Wilson Picket including - In The Midnight Hour, Land Of 1000 Dances, 634-5789 and Knock On Wood (Covered by many including Amii Stewart) but to name a few.... As usual MidiMart likes to play tribute with a well known track of the artiste, so I hope I do him justice with this one. Knock On Wood by Wilson Pickett

It is very sad news for all musician and listeners . I had never seen his live , only listen from Radio Luxembourg - it was 1967 - from the first time i heart his music i love it .I have luck , one year later i start to play in my first Soul and Rhythm & Blues Band , we had have fantastic singer with voice very similar to Wilson Pickett .It was time in my country , when singing in English was like criminal act . We'll remember Wilson Pickett forever!
