Is it just me or is this hit ripped from "Danny Boy" or, to be more precise "Londonderry Air". Is this credited at all and, if not, how did they get away with it??!!!

Well spotted pmalcom.......... I agree there is definately a similarity but found this bit of info on the subject Frederick Edward Weatherly (1848-1929) was an English lawyer, author, songwriter and radio entertainer. He wrote the lyrics of the well-known ballad Danny Boy which is set to the tune A Londonderry Air. To begin with, Danny Boy is one of over 100 songs composed to the same tune. Copyright in a work created on or after January 1, 1978, exists from its creation and, except for certain limited exceptions, endures for the life of the author and for 70 years after the author's death. In the case of a joint work prepared by two or more authors who did not work for hire, the copyright endures for the life of the last surviving author and for 70 years after the last surviving author's death. So according to my reckoning Brendan Graham needed no permission to alter copy or reproduce this song as the writer died in 1929.

I must have a look at some of my old manuscripts and see how I can earn my fortune! I just doubt that I'd be able to shoulder the shame of being a theif! Ah well, such is life I guess.
