Levi,
I had it done in 1999 and have 20/15 vision now. It took a while to get the starbursts to go away, but all went back to normal and life is good on the vision side.
I'm sure you will like not having to wear glasses!

Levi, mate, well done for having the nerve to get this treatment on your eyes. I wear glasses myself but too much of a scaredy cat to let anyone near my eyes. But I have heard that it isn't that painful, even so I too would, as you say, be bagging it Did the experience really make such a difference, and was it very expensive. Just like to know in case I ever drum up enough courage to go through such an operation.

Hi Levi,
Good for you! I had mine done in 2001. I had a test about 2 months ago, and I've still got 20/20 vision (from being a -6.0 - it was life changing - I had to wear glasses and then contact lenses for 25 years).
My hubby had his done in about '98 - he uses reading glasses now, but his distance vision is perfect, and my step-dad had his done about 2 months ago.
Apart from being able to see, it takes away all those silly inconveniences like not being able to see the numbers on the alarm clock, and always having to remember to take a spare pair of contact lenses on holiday - just in case.
Eventually, you'll forget you had it done.

Hey Levi2,
Good luck on that surgery. I have been contemplating doing that laser eye thing myself. My day gig requires staring at a screen pretty much all day doing Auto Cad for electrical systems. Consequently, my long distance vision has really suffered. I believe your eyes adjust to the demand being placed on them. When I was on the road gigging, I could read an exit sign miles away. Now, I'm glad if I see it just before I have to take that exit! LOL...Let me know how it goes. Funny thing, I remember being able to see people's expressions when I performed. Now, they all look like blobs. They could really be dogging us out, but I smile anyway..cause I cant see what they're doing anyway...LOL

Levi2, delighted to know you are on top form with this. I was doing a little research and learned that the "dry eye" you mentioned is very normal and will soon take care of itself.
