Can anybody help me here ................I'm having timing issues when I record from keyboard to Cakewalk........the recorded notes come out a fraction of a second behind what they should be.......funny enough when I do the same thing in Powertrax9...everything is fine..I'm more familiar with CWPA9 so I'd prefer to use this Program........I'm using Keyboard/ Roland XP 10 and Cakewalk Pro Audio 9..........any help would be great...................Cheerz

have a look in your top lists for a thing called nudge, click on it and preferencesyou can select 1/2 ,1/4,1,32,1,16 of a note, then when you click on the recorded track, click on the nudge, from the drop down list, and click nudge left once.this should align your track with the rest of the music.i have cakewalk music creater 3,and it works fine with that.it,s all to do with latency.are you using a dxi plugin vsc3,or the stand alone version?the latency is less with the plugin.unless you use the bog standard output, and the same for input, then it will be fine, then alter your output back to your vsc3 or whatever you use and reselct the instruments.you will have to do a bit of trial and error to find out how much your track is behind, once set the net time,it will be simple.hope this helps steve

I have a similar problem with Cakewalk Pro 9. Nearly every track I record is slightly before the beat and I have to drag & drop it into place before quantizing. I play and hear it in time but it records out of time. I don't appear to have the nudge feature in CW9.

there is a trick i used before i went sonar 6 with ASIO, whereby i record the midi in audio, then when i record my vocal, it . keeps it in time. also the "Nudge" that you are all referring to is called "Slide" in CWP9, you can find it in the "Process" section on the top pane, you can slide it by bar, frame, tick etc. 2 or, 3 ticks on the recorded track should do nicely.
ALSO, if your recording midi, make sure MIDI ECHO is off and you are using the built in midi engine in windows. funny enough, even with creative gear etc, latency has always been an issue.
either that, or upgrade your card to an ASIO and get a few DX-i's I use Sonar 6 Producers Edition running from a Creative Audigy 4 with reason and a few Dx-i's and it runs very smooth

one further point for you.i now use the dxi vsc3 plugin and forte 1.5 dxi plugin.the trick i use now is select the output on each track to the edirol vsc plugin, and adjust the bank settings to match the instruments,do the same for your input track, your keyboard in the input and the vsc plugin for the output,as all the tracks are now set for the plugin everything is synchronized, and you wont get any time lags when playing, and recording.the vsc plugin came free with my creative music creater 3.if you haven,t got one try dolphin music on the web good luck and hope this helps steve
