Hi everyone Many here tell me the Windows Vista is still not very stable, is this true ? I still have the Windows XP Professional but was thinking of getting the Vista. May I have some honest reviews from the Vista users ?

Hi Shyamwestwind, Listen to your friends as they are telling you the truth... As far as I can find out, Microsoft allways send out their new products without being fully tested. They then let "The World" test everything and fix the bugs as they come to hand..Actually this is quite a smart idea as it saves them a mountain of time.. The proof of this is the amount of updates you get with new products.. I have allways waited 12 months before getting a new operating system so the one I get has already had most of the bugs fixed.. Hope this helps.. Cheers Dale

Hi Shyamwestwind What Dales says has been generally true for Microsoft and many other software developers over recent years - however I have been using Visat Home Premium now for a few months and I have been using trial versions of all the major Microsoft Office 2007 programmmes since mid last year - I have to say that Vista loads and shuts down very quickly ( much quicker than XP) and I have had no issues with it or the 2007 Office at all so far - and there is some nice stuff in there - my only issue is that a lot of my software that I use is not Vista compatible and the manufacturers haven't yet updated their products so I am having to run two PCs - one on XP and one on Vista - however that will change over time as Vista becomes mainstream - probably wise to wait as Dale says but I have found little or no downside so far regards Roy Setchfield Waiuku, NZ

Vista Ultimate: which i am using at the moment on my laptop, seems to do average tasks very well, EG: Internet explorer, WIndows Media Player etc, Just don't rely on it for midi or anything like that, as they have stripped the standard out of the OS. which is a shame considering i used to have a whole mobile studio running from firewire and midi on the laptop.
My Advice..........
BLEED XP TIL IT RUNS DRY!!!!!!!!

Make sure your system is capable of running Vista. Microsoft recommends 1 GB of memory, but I have heard that 2 GB is better especially for the top of the line version. Of course most recommend getting the top version as it seems to be a better OS. Still issues with the lack of drivers for most peripherals and of course the various bugs. Best bet is to wait.
