Hi All I was just wondering if anyone has ever Registered the name of their Band or Act to protect the name from being used by anyone else, be it for just gigging around pubs & clubs, to making CD's etc and if so what was involved? What sites did you go to, was it worthwhile, does it cost, even if you have had a bad experience by someone using the same name as you Anything you can tell me would be of interest. Jacqui

Hi Jac I can't think of any at the moment, but I'm sure in the past I've noticed groups using the same name that have had hit records. Admittedly there may have been a few years between the songs. And I've never heard of any dispute concerning bands with the same name. Anyway the BBC usually know all. www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/onemusic/startingout/namesp01.shtmlMerry Christmas Jimmy G.

Replying to myself ( I think my boilers busted) Check out Wikapedia List of band name etymologiesen.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_band_name_etymologiesA band called The Tea Set found themselves on the same bill as another band with the same name So they changed their name to....................... Pink Floyd! Check out the above link and find out how many bands chose their name. Jimmy G
