Thank you, Pat. Shyam, thanks for the compliment but I'm afraid I have more than enough on my plate just moderating my own behaviour! Cheers, Dave

JHi Guys Just to add my tuppence worth, I've been working in a Restaurant lately, and I really wish the customers had little switches on their lapels to turn them down as they are so noisy, having said that, a Resturant is a place to chat, eat and talk, if you don't want a band playing too, you shouldn't go there in the first place. As for the Ad, I can't really see what you can do there Shyam as it's not real life. But I wish you luck with your efforts to get it removed, keep us posted. Jacqui

On several threads you ask for opinions from members and then, when they state them, you post an answer to refute or argue/discuss/debate with those opinions. If you'd chosen to say "thank you for your opinion, John" rather than labeling him as being "insensitive" and then refuting the ideas expressed in his post there would have been nothing further said. > snip < Cheers, Dave. Thanks for that Dave (Gibbo), Actually I don't even need a "thank you John", but being labelled insensitive when my point of view just happens not to coincide with his is, in my view, unacceptable. I don't (didn't) mind a bit of debate now and then, even a bit of an argument as long as it's kept within reasonable bounds and, as you've probably noticed, join(ed) in on this from time to time where I thought my comments might lend another perspective or where I wholeheartedly agreed with the poster. But I'd got the impression that making personal comments about people was not permitted on this forum, indeed it was part of the rules. Perhaps again I'm mistaken. If it's a free-for-all, like in another place, if it still exists, not far from here, then let me know please and I'll get banned from here too, probably! JohnG.

JohnG, please, please, please lets call a truce. I really seem to have hurt you and believe me I didnt ever mean to do that. I have absolutely no ill will or prejudice , bias or any reason to hurt anyone and I wish to unconditionally APOLOGISE for this impasse. Please accept my apology and reach out your hand and lets shake on this. You've been a good friend, JohnG and I want it to stay that way.

Hi Shyam, Far be it for me to turn down such a well worded response from you. I accept your apology with many thanks and unreservedly so lets call it quits. Still friends. If I may offer by way of explanation what many here may see as somewhat strange behaviour on my part, let me just say that not all disabilities are visible. Sometimes words can hurt as much as physical blows depending upon the frame of mind of the recipient. Those who suffer from this illness will understand. Those who don't will not. With that said I shall retreat into my shell! All the best, JohnG.

Thanks JohnG, I'm so relieved, all's well. I do understand what you have explained but please - please - please do understand that I never mean to hurt anyone and if, ever in the future, you feel I've done so, stop a while and say to yourself - " No, Shyam will not hurt my feelings " cos I wont. I just dont have any enemies, JohnG and I guess the only enemy I might have is myself, so, please, dont ever get angry with me. Deal ?
This message goes to all the others in this Forum too, and I mean it. There might be many issues I feel strongly about, and I bring it to all of you to just let out some steam, but do remember that you are not the issue and I'm just debating among friends. I have learnt it is best to say I'm Sorry, and its really not the hardest word to say, because it brings peace to all and we can live on as good friends, in this short span of ours.
I love you guys, and I say so through the tears that I feel.

I will keep you informed of their response. I do have a few musos supporting me who have sent in their protests too..............well............. lets see if anything comes out of all this.

I did reopen it. I later realised we were still awaiting news from you regarding your complaint. The misunderstandings, now fortunately cleared up and firmly behind us, must have effected my thinking Anyway, thanks for the up date. I, along with others who've expressed an interest in this, await further news.

Hi Everyone This is just an update on whats happened in the interim . I have had no response whatsoever from the Company or the Advertising Standards Council, but the media has shown interest and will be publishing my complaint in one of their columns "sound off" and I hope to gather more support from other musicians and artistes. If something comes out, of all this, it'll atleast, be a beginning. I will update you when things happen.
