My Friend Elvis had his Yamaha PRO 9000 which he sold to another friend of mine, now playing with me. He had a 2 GB Hard Disk on borad the PRO 9000 and used it effectively. He used to work on his files with the Cakewalk 9 and tranfer them to the Hard Disk from his PC (with the Windows XP Professional) My friend who bought the keyboard is not able to do this transfer from his PC to the Hard disk, though its the same operating system and he uses the same USB to HD cable. Can someone advice what he should do ? I cant get thro to Elvis now to as for his advice, hence this post.

Yes, he should read the manual.

Thingyy you're joking !!! This is a format related issue and nothing to do with anything in the manual.

if you are using a usb cable to your computer, look in your my computer(click on icon) and see if the hard drive is found there.if so click on it,you can then drag files on to it. steve

Hi Guys,
Although I am quite a 'Whizz' with the 9000 Pro, having had one now for over 5 years, I don't know what to suggest! This is due to the fact that I have never coupled the 9000 Pro to a computer. I have always used Floppy disks to move music from one to the other in .mid format. Backwards and forwards, when I am using programs like Sonar or Cubase, etc!
I am at present looking for a cable that I can connect the computer directly tto the computer, with a SCSI plug on one end (the keyboard), and the computer on the other end with a USB plug. Just wondering if such an animal exists? i.e. SCSI to USB ! !
To get an Mp3 made, I have a terrible task! I have to take the line out from the keyboard into my CD recorder - record a .wav file on to CD, then put the CD into the computer and convert it with 'CD Ex' to an Mp3. If I could get a cable (as above), I would not have to make CDs, as I could record the wav from the line out or SCSI straight into my computer (10 feet away from the keyboard), and then convert it to Mp3!
I am sure this is as clear as mud, but I know what I mean!
Kind regards,
Tony

Would it work from line out or earphone jack on the keyboards to mike in on the computer?
