Just been given a copy of this album by some friends. I do a few numbers by the Eagles, so they thought I would appreciate this. Verdict? It will definately take a few spins of the disc to get familiar with some of the tracks...BUT... The title track, "All roads etc..." This is an absolute masterpiece whether you are into the Eagles or not. The production is second to none. Listen to the drum sound especially. I played it first on my car cd player and as I parked outside my house after the gig, I had to play the track again. Then, straight indoors, upstairs and onto somer good equipment with headphones on. Now, I'm knocking on a bit, but this track has to be given some "welly" to appreciate the separation on the instruments, and as for atmosphere, the intro takes you straight into the sand dunes of Eden. Also, listen to the rather tasty drumming for the play out as it reduces the beats. Clever. The CD is worth getting for this track alone. It's a bit early, but I'll just go and whip it on the TV surround system whilst I cook breakfast! Cheers, Rossi

Rossi thank you for that review and on the strength of it I will get this new album. I am a bit of a fan of the Eagles but really wanted to hear how good the album was before forking out for it Mark: you mentioned a CD Review section. Nice idea and one I feel we could well incorporate. Thanks for that.

My youngest daughter gave me th CD for my *+>::th birthday, and I have already played both CD's to within days of becoming worn out.! This has to be the finest album I've heard this year. My favourite track--- "No more walks in the wood". The harmonies are outstanding, and it seems as though the sound has grown up. Don't get me wrong, I have always thought the Eagles were/are a d**n good band, but this new album, (to me, anyway) doesn't have the sex, drugs and rock'n'roll sound of, say. The Long Run. It seems like they've come to a conclusion that, well, if our audience and fans have grown up, then so should we. It's clean sounding, to the point of almost being clinical. But I still think it's been worth the wait, now I'll go and play it again. Let's hope we don't have to wait another 17 years. Regards to all, Lennon

Having played the album over and over again, I have changed my mind regarding my favourite track. I still think "No more walks in the wood" is a fabulous track, but now I have to say "What do I do with my heart", to me anyway, is my most favourite. It's one of those songs that if you listen to the lyrics, what they are singing about has happened,(probably) to most of us at one time or another. In the absents of being able to use swear-words, they are very naughty, naughty boys !!!! They actually made a middle aged man blub like a baby. The words are so heartfelt and sincere, and yes I know it's only a song, but, it should come with a government lump in the throat warning. Anyone else think along these lines, or am I the only saddo on the planet. Love to hear comments. Regards to all, Lennon

I bought the album around Xmas and loved it for two reasons - basically they have just carried on from where they left off in the 70s with that quintessential Eagles Country Rock guitar band sound with those familiar vocals/harmonies and lead guitar virtuosity - second reason is that notwithstanding the first reason it is full of variety and some interesting new variations on their traditional material - as some have said above it takes a few playings to get used to some of the tracks but I for one am pleased that the greatest country rock band the the world has ever seen lives on - those who like today's rap rubbish sound will be disappointed cheers Roy NZ
