Hi
A month or two back a friend of my daughter was getting married in Fiji and wanted me to do some CDs of music for the wedding as bands were too expensive over there but the hotel would play them on their sound gear - she wanted about 4 hours of background music while they had dinner etc and about the same of dance music
My daughter and I spent hours on putting the CDs together - did about 9 Cds altogther and took most of a weekend plus a few nights into the next week
The bride said she was happy to pay for it but we never agreed any price - mistake no 2 - mistake no 1 was agreeing to do it in the first place but I knew the bride and she was a long time friend of my daughter etc and I can't say no to doing music stuff to help people out
Anyway today, a couple of months afterwards, I have received a bottle of cask strength Grouse whisky - I wasn't quite sure what cask strength meant until I looked at the label which said 59.8% - as most spirit drinkers will know most are in the range 37-40% so this is about a third more potent - I am just about to open it and try it so if no more posts from me for a while you will know why
Anyway the moral of the story is I guess be careful about committing to doing too much music stuff for people without a clear agreement on what it is worth - while this bottle would have cost more than the normal bottle of whisky on an hourly rate basis it would be a very poor return
Anyway I have something to drown my sorrows in - or irrigate my problems - or whatever
cheers
